Our blogs provide you with valuable information on cannabis to help you better understand its medicinal scope. We cover a variety of topics to educate you about the magical herb.
Are you a cannabis enthusiast? If yes, then you must be aware of the benefits of having a grinder with you. This amazing accessory can make your cannabis smoking session even more amazing. But what if you lose your grinder, or simply can not find it?
Cannabis can be used for both recreational and medical purposes. It is a magical herb that has various health and therapeutic benefits. Many people use a medical cannabis card to buy medical cannabis for managing their condition. With simple 420 evaluations, you can also get your MMJ card if you are suffering from a state-qualified condition. But no matter why you smoke cannabis, not finding a grinder can give most of us a headache. A grinder makes everything so easy and enhances your smoking experience. You can break apart your cannabis with ease, and also save a lot of time.
Even if you are not able to find your grinder, you do not have to worry about not having a great smoking session. While a grinder is very helpful, it is still only an accessory. You can break up your cannabis without it as well. There are various old school tricks and methods with which you can grind your buds without the help of a grinder. I have compiled a list of some of the most common ways to break up your cannabis if you do not have a grinder. This way you will not have to rely on a grinder to have the perfect smoking session. So without any further ado, let’s get into it.
It is time to go back to the basics. One of the most traditional and oldest ways to break up your cannabis is with your hands. This old school way is still going strong and is very rewarding. When I first started rolling joints, I used to break up my cannabis using my fingers only. And I still do. I don’t know but I just like that feeling of breaking apart buds with my hands. I feel more connected to cannabis this way as I’m able to get close and personal to my strain’s unique aroma. You can build a relationship with your cannabis by “getting your hands dirty” this way.
It is very simple to pick apart your cannabis with your fingers. You just have to use your one hand to make a shape like a bowl. Then use the other one to pick away at your cannabis and slowly break them apart. Well, using this method also has a downside. You will have to deal with the resin that builds up around your hand when you break up your buds. However, even this can be used in your favor. The resin that builds up around your hand contains high levels of THC. You can just scrape it off your hands by using a credit card or keys and then smoke it for some extra kick. Trust me, you will thank me later. Collecting resin off the hands is one of the oldest ways to make hash.
Are you at a party? This method is going to help you a lot if you are at a party. You just need a shot glass and scissors to break up your buds. Another advantage of this method is that you will not have to worry about getting your hands dirty.
It is better to get some sharp scissors for this. Take your shot glass and just pop your cannabis in it. Then with the help of scissors, start chopping the buds. This is a little tedious method, but you surely will get really nice, evenly cut cannabis. And you will be able to impress everyone at the party. Now, there are a few reasons for using shot glass in particular. First, a shot glass has the high walls that will help avoid your buds from falling out when you chop. The second reason is the small diameter of the glass. This helps in tightly confining cannabis, which makes it easier for you to cut through. And the third reason is that it is impressive (time to do a little show off).
On a serious note, if you are not able to find a shot glass, you can use the regular glass or container. You just have to tilt it on an edge a little to bunch the buds together nicely. Also, make sure to keep checking out for any piece that can possibly fly out when you chop.
Are you good at chopping vegetables? If yes, this method is going to be your favorite. Even if you lack in chopping skills, do not feel discouraged, you can still do this easily. It is time to go to your kitchen and get a knife and a chopping board. Make sure you get a sharp knife; it makes it easier to finely chop cannabis. Now, simply put your buds on the clean chopping board and with that sharp knife, start chopping them.
Before you start off with this method, make sure that the knife and chopping board is clean. This is especially important if you used them to cut any pungent ingredients such as garlic or onions. The odor can contaminate your cannabis.
Using a knife and chopping board will give you really nice and finely chopped cannabis. You just need some patience and chopping skills for it. And be careful while you are using the knife, you would not want to get a cut on your finger.
All those methods we discussed above are great and can produce some nice, finely chopped cannabis for your smoking session. But all of them require patience and are not at all efficient when it comes to breaking up large amounts of cannabis.
Suppose you have a good quantity of cannabis that you want to grind. Using the above-mentioned methods can take a lot of time and this can possibly put you off. But do not worry, there is a solution for that as well. You just need a coffee grinder to easily grind large quantities of cannabis. Also, there is no new technique to do this. You just have to follow the steps that you would do to grind your coffee.
Load your cannabis into the grinder and grind it, just like you would do to grind coffee beans. Once it is done, you will have to deal with the resin that may build up inside the grinder. You can collect this resin with the help of a credit card or a key. Then smoke it to get some extra kick. While you are planning to use a coffee grinder for this method, make sure you clean it thoroughly. Wash and dry it before and after you use it. This will help to avoid contaminating your cannabis and/or coffee.
